Founder's Corner

Welcome (Karibu)!

I'll get a new picture up soon. I have to have one done for a Kenyan visa application. Might as well show you the long hair and beard then!

We are Officially a 501(c)(3) Organization!

Yes, we've posted the letter in the Disclosures section. It might only be one page, but it's a really big one page! Being officially recognized by the IRS means that we can now work with you, the individual, as a fully tax-deductible entity. Anything you decide to send to help this Ministry then qualifies with the IRS to be listed as "tax-deductible." Just as soon as the IRS updates their "Exempt Organizations Business Master File Extract (or "EO BMF"), you'll be able to find us easily in sorting through over 35,000 charities just in Tennessee. See? It is a big deal!

We're now able to work with various churches and other charities on an equal playing field. What that means is that we can now be considered for grants from private foundations and many other charitable organizations. We can do combined drives with other organizations to help benefit them and to help benefit KSM. For example, I know of a specific private foundation that does pediatric heart surgeries for free in developing nations. KSM can now work with them on a campaign to locate some Kenyan kids that need this type of help. You see now, it's all about bettering the lives of the folks we serve in ways well beyond our little niche. God has bigger plans; much bigger plans.

As a reminder from the last Corner, there are over 30,000 primary schools in Kenya that all have materials and resource issues that fit our Purpose. We are starting with just one school in Kericho and growing it from there. As we say, ...despise not small beginnings.

Thank you for being here. Please pray for us all; kids and workers alike. And remember, ...it's all about the kids.

Mungu akubariki!
